Victim ID'd in fatal Fayetteville accident

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -- A child was killed in a two-car accident in Fayetteville last week..

The wreck happened on West Fayetteville Road at Pavilion Parkway at around 9:40 a.m. Friday. A Toyota Camry was attempting to turn left onto Beckett Lane and turned into the path of a southbound pickup truck, according to Fayetteville Police Lt. Mike Whitlow.

The Toyota driver was identified as 28-year-old Christopher W. Thomas Jr. of College Park. He had four young children in the car, all of whom were transported to hospitals, two by LifeFlight. Thomas was also hospitalized.

One child, 6-year-old Jeremy Stone Jr. of Atlanta, passed away. A second child, 3-year-old Caleah Thomas of College Park, is still in critical condition. The remaining two children -- 8-year-old Christian Thomas and 5-year-old Cameron Thomas -- are both in serious condition.

The pickup truck driver has been identified as 22-year-old Calvin Seth Norman of Fayetteville. He was not hurt.

The Fayetteville Police Department is investigating the crash. Police have not yet determined if they will file charges.
