Atlantans polish hundreds of apples for teachers

Buckhead Rotarians polished apples for local educators as a part of their annual Apple Polishing. It's is a 43-year tradition to reflect Rotarians' commitment to education.

BUCKHEAD, Ga. -- Did you ever give an apple to your teacher? On Monday night, a lot of Atlantans put some serious elbow grease into polishing apples for teachers.

The Rotary Club of Buckhead has gathered for more than 40 years to polish apples and give them to teachers. 150,000 apples later, the rotary is still at it.

Students from North Atlanta High School and Oglethorpe University helped polish more than 3500 apples that were delivered to teachers around metro Atlanta Tuesday morning.
