Firefighters knock down flames at two vacant houses

Fire damages three vacant Atlanta homes

ATLANTA -- Fire officials are trying to figure out what started a fire that burned two vacant Atlanta houses.

Sgt. Cortez Stafford said the fires broke out inside the houses on Sims and Fletcher Streets after 7:30 p.m.

Stafford said there were reports of children playing near the houses shortly before the fire, but didn't indicate what they were connected to the incident.

Crews were able to extinguish the fires, and no one was reported injured in the incident.
