Forest Park man's death investigated as homicide

FOREST PARK, Ga. -- Police are treating a 68-year-old Forest Park man's death as a homicide.

Alfred Watson's body was found Saturday afternoon behind a vacant building in the 4800 block of Puckett Street, between Main Street and North Avenue.

Forest Park Police Maj. Chris Matson said Watson was last seen alive Thursday evening, when he left home to walk to a nearby convenience store -- something he did all the time.

Matson said the man's body showed signs of trauma, but the cause of death has not been determined. Police are awaiting autopsy results.

Anyone who has information about Watson's death is asked to call Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS. Tipsters who provide information leading to an arrest and conviction may receive a reward.
