STATHAM, Ga. -- A Georgia police department's Facebook post about Zika in meth is going viral.
The post offers "free" screening for anyone who "purchased meth in Georgia or South Carolina" because it "may be contaminated with the Zika virus."
The Statham Police Department, a small town department with five officers, posted the message on September 5. Since then, it has been shared thousands of times. Many people are responding in jest.
Some asked questions about their meth.
Those questions went unanswered.
The apparently comical post speaks to the wider concern of the Zika virus' presence in the satea.
There are more than 60 case of Zika reported in Georgia. They are all travel-related, meaning the patients did not contract the virus while in the state.
