Georgia Tech cheered on from International Space Station

ORBIT, Earth -- We've all heard of sitting in the nose bleed seats at the game, but one Georgia Tech alum takes the cake after rooting for his team from 250 miles above the earth.

That's where Georgia Tech alum Shane Kimbrough was as he offered some words of support - complete with his "Give 'Em Hell Tech" flag - on Saturday.

"I brought along this special flag you see behind me from the Ramblin' Wreck to keep me company up here," he said.

Kimbrough, who earned his Masters in Operations Research from Georgia Tech in 1998 wished Coach Paul Johnson, his staff and the team good luck and offered his congratulations to the seniors.

Those words from a man hurtling around the earth at 5 miles per second must have had some impact. Georgia Tech ultimately won the game against Virgina 31-17.
