Gwinnett County track coach accused of inappropriately touching student

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- A Gwinnett County school track coach is in police custody after he allegedly inappropriately touched a student, police said.

Ronnie Jackson was arrested May 17 on charges of sexual battery for an April 21 incident that happened on Meadowcreek High School's campus.

According to the report, a 16-year-old student got a text message from Jackson, her track coach at the time, to meet him in the training room in the gym so he could help her stretch.

The report alleges the coach was massaging and helping stretch a muscle that she injured in a prior track meet when he moved his hand between her legs.

A friend told the victim's parents via text about what happened, and the parents notified the school.

Jackson was arrested and granted a $20,000 bond.
