Harrah's Casino responds to fatal tour bus crash

GILMER COUNTY, Ga. -- The feature trip for Greatime Getaways is the Harrah's Valley River Casino in Murphy, North Carolina. They pick up customers at several locations around Metro Atlanta and drive them to the new casino.

Thursday just before noon, the Greatime Getaways bus and a tractor-trailer crashed on Hwy. 515 in North Georgia. The driver of the bus died, and up to forty others were injured. A witness at the scene told 11Alive News the bus was "full of elderly people."

Lumpy Lambert, the General Manager for the Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino, sent 11Alive News a statement :

We are saddened to hear of this terrible accident.  Our thoughts and prayers are extended to those involved and condolences to the family for their tragic loss.
