Broken hydrant causes water main break in Johns Creek

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. -- Crews spent Thursday working to repair a large water main break in Johns Creek.

The break happened Wednesday morning on Jones Bridge Road at New Cove Road, not far from Buice Road.

Dispatchers said the break occurred when a fire hydrant fell into a sinkhole and hit a major water line. Most of the water flowed into a nearby creek and not causing any damage.

Crews repaired the line late in the afternoon.
