Man hurt in Gwinnett shooting

SNELLVILLE, Ga. -- Gwinnett County Police are investigating a shooting in unincorporated Snellville.

It happened at around 12:15 a.m. Monday at a house in the 2900 block of Trotters Pointe Drive, off Everson Road. A woman called police to report that her fiancé was shot in the back as he slept.

Gwinnett County Police Sgt. Troy Tobler said investigators determined several suspects pulled up outside the couple's home, shot at the house and then drove away.

The victim, a man in his 40's, was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville. Tobler said he is expected to recover.

Police are now looking for a four-door pickup truck, possibly black or maroon, in connection with this crime.

Tobler said police do not believe the shooting was random, but think the victim was an unintended target.
