LILBURN, Ga. -- A disciplinary hearing was held Monday for a student accused in a locker room fight at Parkview High School last month.
CONTINUING COVERAGE: Details of the locker room fight and full interview with David Egan
In an incident caught on camera, David Egan was punched in the face twice by a fellow student at Parkview High in Lilburn.
The student who threw the punches faces a criminal charge of battery. Photos and cell phone video will play a key role in a school disciplinary hearing set for this afternoon.
Egan said he was kept separated by the accused attacker as both boys presented evidence at the hearing, which was held at Gwinnett County's Alternative High School. According to Egan, both sides gave evidence separately. The accused boy's parents, who had an attorney present, also spoke, according to Egan.
"You could tell they were overwhelmed," said David Egan's father, Daniel. "Not much they could say. I had all the medical reports, had all the pictures -- David as a witness, me as a witness."
Daniel Egan said the accused puncher did not apologize.
For David Egan, the hearing meant he had to relive the punch.
"I was kind of surprised that they had him in a different room when I went in there to testify. I was expecting to see him," David Egan said.
The hearing was closed to the public. The Egans won't learn the fates of the accused attacker because, according to the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act, disciplinary actions are confidential.
