LILBURN, Ga. -- Gwinnett County police are investigating after a body was pulled from the Yellow River Saturday afternoon.
In a statement, police said that the body was found around 4:30 p.m. in the river between Bending River Trail and Stone Mountain Highway.
Police said a kayaker discovered the body as he was making his way down the river and then called 911.
From there, police and members of the Gwinnett County Swift Water Rescue Team worked to recover the body which in total took about one hour.
The race, age and identity of the body are not yet know but police did confirm that the deceased was male. The medical examiner has since taken custody of the body and will work to discover the identity.
