Man arrested for arson after setting truck on fire

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. - A Cartersville man was arrested after police say he spray painted and set a vehicle on fire.
Cartersville Police and Fire departments responded to the fire on Stonehendge Drive on September 8, at 3:30 a.m.  Firefighters were able to contain the truck fire and determine it was set on purpose. Investigators said the owner of the truck, was in a bitter custody battle with his wife. The day his truck was set on fire was the same day he was awarded custody of his children.

Further investigation led to the arrest of the wife's boyfriend, Kristopher Mathison on Monday.  He's charged with Arson 2nd, Criminal Trespass and Assault. Police said more charges are pending.
