Man found with gunshot wound at Atlanta gas station

ATLANTA -- A man was left injured overnight after a gunman shot him in the back, according to authorities.

It happened in the early morning hours of Sunday at a shell gas station near the corner of Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and Joseph E. Lowrey Boulevard.

Police say they responded to the scene where the man, Orlando Davis, was found shot. Davis had already been transported to the hospital, and underwent surgery for his gunshot wound.

Police went to the hospital to interview him, but they have not released many details at this time. Davis is in stable condition.

It's unclear what the motive of the shooting was, and police have yet to release a description of the suspect. Detectives are still investigating the incident.
