ATLANTA -- We're less than one month out from the opening of the new Mercedes-Benz stadium, and its latest addition is making it feel more and more like a football (both kinds) stadium.
This week, crews finished laying down the turf for what will be the playing field. The stadium's Twitter account shared a picture of the completed field, and it looks pretty spiffy.
Until now, the stadium had been sporting a bare concrete floor as construction goes through the final stages before opening. On Twitter, most of the reaction has been one of approval.

While the stadium has been coming together in the past few weeks, it's not been without setbacks involving the stadium's one-of-a-kind retractable roof.
However, the first event in the new stadium is still slated to be on schedule, though it will be played with a closed roof. That first game will be a Falcons pre-season game against the Arizona Cardinals on Aug. 26.
