NORCROSS, GA – Gwinnett County Police have identified the victims of a Friday night triple shooting at a home in the 700 block of Pebble Creek Drive in Norcross.
Police said a father arrived home Friday afternoon to find his 55-year-old wife, 26-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter shot to death in what detectives believe may have been a murder-suicide.
On Monday, police identified the deceased as 55-year-old Josephine Roby-Skinner, 10-year-old Jasmyn Skinner and 26-year-old Jermaine Roby. They also identified the father as 57-year-old Vernon Skinner.
Neighbors left flowers and cards of support outside the home over the weekend, as investigators continued to work on the case.
According to a Gwinnett County Police report, Friday afternoon, Vernon Skinner left home for work at about 3:45 p.m. A short time later, his son, Jermaine, called, telling him to come back home right away, saying Jasmyn was sick. When he got home, he found his all three family members, lying in a pool of blood.
Detectives say they are investigating the possibility the son may have been the gunman and ultimately turned the gun on himself. The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner, and is still pending.
Police said they now consider Jermaine Roby a person of interest in an Atlanta homicide that happened Friday.
Shortly before police began investigating the Norcross shooting, Atlanta Police found 40-year-old Quincy King shot to death in an apartment complex on Northside Circle.
The Public Affairs office with the Atlanta Police Department released a statement late Monday morning:
"We are working with Gwinnett County detectives so we can compare ballistic evidence," the statement said. "We are trying to determine how the two males knew one another."
Neighbors said that Jermaine Roby was a former member of the Navy who was studying music and always appeared happy at home. They said he was often seen walking his dog and with his younger sister.
