BARROW COUNTY, Ga. – Neighbors in Barrow County are on alert after several of their children were approached by a man allegedly looking for his dog.
Police say it is suspicious that the same person driving the same vehicle in the same neighborhood has been approaching just kids.
There have been at least two incidents in the communities around Kennedy Elementary School – both with someone in a silver car, stopping to ask young children about a dog.
Now it may be a legitimate situation, or it may be the oldest trick in the pedophile handbook. Either way, parents are spooked.
One mother, who did not want to be identified, said she saw the suspect vehicle on Friday morning.
Parents in the area are keeping a very close watch on their kids, and deputies are stepping up patrols in the area.
The good news is that kids in the area have been smart enough to know to run away from the man, who has been described as a clean-shaven white male, between 20 and 40 years old, in a silver car.
