People trapped in Bank of America Plaza elevators for two hours

ATLANTA - The Atlanta Fire Department firefighters rescued more than a dozen people from elevators in the Bank of America Plaza building in downtown.

Sgt. Cortez Stafford said "Truck 15 responded to assist numerous people out of multiple elevators on different floors of the building. Approximately 17 people were removed from elevators in the building."

He said firefighters were on scene for two hours this morning doing the rescues.

"It looks like at most some individuals spent a maximum of two hours stuck in the elevator," Stafford said.
