Police ID suspect believed to have fired gun near school bus

Marietta police identify suspect

MARIETTA, Ga. – Police have identified a suspect who they believe fired a gun at a home multiple times with a school bus stopped nearby.

Marietta police says Malcolm Girard Ivey, 21, is wanted for reckless conduct and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, both felonies.

On Nov. 14, around 3:50 p.m., police said two students were about to get off a school bus stopped at McIntosh Avenue and McArthur Drive, when the bus driver noticed a man shooting at a home directly in front of the bus. The driver quickly shut the doors, preventing the students from exiting, and called police. The shooter fled the scene in a blue and white SUV.

Police said the suspect shot about a dozen bullets into the home. No one was shot.

If you have seen Ivey or have any information on the crime call the MPD Anonymous Tip Line at (770) 794-6990 or Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-TIPS (8477).
