Police investigating Monroe man's murder

MONROE, Ga – Police are investigating the murder of a man whose body was found on Saturday in his apartment.

Anthony Myron Sims, 59, was found dead after police responded to a call that his window had been pushed in. A preliminary investigation, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, revealed Sims had been murdered, but no cause of death has been released.

Police say Sims’ 2002 dark blue Dodge Dakota pickup truck, Georgia tag DP9TEJ, is missing from the residence and believed to have been stolen during the murder. Anyone spotting the vehicle or occupants are urged to contact their local law enforcement immediately and should not approach the vehicle or occupants under any circumstances.
