Police looking for suspect who dragged woman behind truck, partially ran over her

A video has been released showing the victim being dragged alongside a truck.

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA. - Police are looking for a robbery suspect who dragged a woman behind a truck and then partially ran over her at the Atlanta Marriott Norcross hotel.

The incident happened around 6 p.m. on August 9, when the victim was walking back to the hotel after visiting a nearby store.

That’s when a blue Honda Ridgeline pulled alongside the victim.  The suspect, a black female, got out of the front passenger seat and grabbed the victim’s purse. The victim fought back and was thrown to the ground.

The suspect pulled on the purse and got back into the vehicle, which then drove off while the woman was still holding onto her purse. The victim was dragged down the hotel’s driveway until being partially run over on Technology Parkway. She eventually let go of her purse.

The woman suffered significant injuries to her foot in the incident.

According to the police report, the victim told police that $2,000 in cash was in her purse, as well as her bank cards and iPhone.

Gwinnett County police have just now released the video because all of their leads have dried up.

“We don’t know if she was targeted specifically because they knew she had a lot of cash, or if this was a random act, but we certainly need to get these suspects identified as quickly as possible, and place them under arrest,” said Cpl. Michele Phiera.

The suspect is described as being 30-40 years old, 5’04” to 5’07”, between 150-170 pounds, wearing a black tank top and with shoulder-length hair. The vehicle is described as being between the years 2006 to 2014, with a window sticker in the bottom-left corner, and a trailer hitch.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477). Callers can leave tips anonymously and qualify for a reward.
