Man enters north Ga. school; now police want to identify him

Police said he attempted to check out a child but gave few details

FLOYD COUNTY, Ga. -- Police say a man walked into a northwest Georgia elementary school and tried to pick up a child. Now they want your help identifying him as part of an ongoing investigation.

The incident happened earlier in the month, Aug. 11, at Model Elementary School in Floyd County. According to a Facebook post by the Floyd County Police Department, the person apparently tried to pick up a child from after school care.

In the post, police don't release why they're seeking the man or what, if any, charges he would face. However, they have released a video of him entering the school.

Anyone with information is asked to either post to the department's Facebook page or contact Floyd County Police Department Investigator Amy Nails at 706-235-7766.
