Bobbi Kristina Brown's boyfriend 'desperately' wants to see her

ATLANTA (WXIA) -- Bobbi Kristina Brown's boyfriend Nick Gordon is hopeful that he'll be able to visit her in the hospital soon.

In a statement issued Wednesday afternoon, Gordon's attorney, Randall M. Kessler, said he isn't visiting her in the hospital to avoid confrontation with her family.

The statement said:

"Nick has been trying, privately, to do everything he can to see Bobbi Kristina cooperatively. He has respected the family's wishes and for that reason alone has not returned to the hospital and risked a public confrontation. But he desperately wants to be with the one he loves and continues to hope that his request will be granted."

Brown, the 21-year-old daughter of singer Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, is in a medically-induced coma at Emory University Hospital. She was found unresponsive faced-down in a bathtub at her Roswell home on the morning of Jan. 31.

In the past, there has been a strained relationship between Gordon and Brown's family. In 2014, Brown's aunt, Marion Houston, sought a restraining order and accused Gordon of stalking her and sending her threatening text messages.

In a statement released on Feb. 12, Gordon's attorney said he wouldn't be taking legal action to visit Brown in the hospital.
