ROSWELL, Ga. -- Police arrested a Roswell city councilman on child sex charges following an undercover sting.
Roswell City Councilman Keny Igleheart was arrested on Oct. 20 and charged with sexual exploitation of a child, enticing a child for indecent purposes and furnishing alcohol to a minor.
Igleheart, 53, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old who he started communicating with online when she was just 13 years old.
"During that time frame Igleheart is alleged to have engaged in inappropriate conversations and the exchange of nude photographs with the minor child," a release from police read.
He was arrested when he arrived to meet the teen at Northlake Mall after renting a hotel room at a Days Inn.
“We will not tolerate these types of crimes against our children. The protection of our children is a priority. This is an example of the extraordinary work of our Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit,” said DeKalb County Public Safety Director, Dr. Cedric Alexander.
The University of Gerogia grad's term on the council ends at the end of 2017.
