Two arrested, charged with murder in fatal Craigslist shooting

The shooting happened near Cumberland Mall.

SMYRNA, Ga. -- Authorities have made two arrests in a fatal shooting at a Smyrna restaurant on Monday.

Cobb County deputies and the U.S. Marshals Service worked together in the arrest of two 22-year-old suspects, Vincent Diandrez Brooks of Jonesboro, Ga. and Damien Akeen Scott of Decatur, Ga.

Authorities believe the two were responsible for a shooting at the Carrabba's Italian Grill Restaurant at 2999 Cumberland Boulevard. The victim was allegedly meeting in the restaurant parking lot in response to a Craigslist ad.

When Smyrna police arrived around 1:30 p.m. that day, they found  the victim shot. They later uncovered that it was the seller who allegedly opened fire before taking the victim's money and fleeing. The victim died on the way to the hospital.

Both Scott and Brooks are now charged with homicide-murder and aggravated assault. The two will be taken to Cobb County jail after being interviewed by Smyrna police investigators.
