Sketch released in 9-year-old boy's kidnapping

ATLANTA -- Atlanta Police have released the sketch of a man they say kidnapped a 9-year-old boy.

Authorities say the boy went outside of a home on Fairburn Road on Monday night to retrieve a tool and didn't return. After police canvassed the area for more than an hour, the child called his guardian and said he was at a home in East Point.

Investigators went to the house and got the boy. The 9-year-old told police that he had been forced inside of a vehicle and driven around for some time. He said he was then dropped off in an East Point neighborhood. He said he knocked on a door and called his guardian. The boy was not harmed.

The vehicle the boy was forced into was described as a grey four-door Honda Civic. The abductor is described as a man in his mid-20s with medium length dreadlocks. He was said to be wearing khaki shorts and a white t-shirt with a Nike logo. He also reportedly had a tattoo on one of his biceps.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477.
