Special program gives jobs to intellectually disabled high school students

Program gets jobs for special needs students

A special program through Fulton County School District is giving jobs to high school seniors who are intellectually disabled.

50 'super senior' students between the ages of 18 and 22 participate in the LIFE program.

LIFE stands for Learning Independence Future Employment.

Businesses across the metro Atlanta area hire these students. They learn basic job skills, but teachers say the biggest lesson is in social behavior, something that can't be taught in the classroom.

The LIFE program is expanding and they're looking for more businesses to participate.
