ATLANTA, Ga. – Three suspects who police believe are connected to multiple robberies in one night have been arrested.
Atlanta Police were on a lookout for a stolen red Kia sedan used as a getaway car in a series of armed robberies Tuesday evening.
At a press conference Wednesday afternoon, APD announced Kareasha Washington,21, Emory Hunter, 21, and Brandon Anderson,25 were arrested for their alleged involvement in the three separate armed robberies.
When police found a unit that matched the description, K9 Officers responded to the area of Hightower Road and near Center St.
As they attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle fled from them heading southbound onto Hamilton E Holmes, then west onto M.L.K., eventually ending up in south Fulton County where they crashed into a large tree.
According to a police report, Anderson leapt from the sunroof of the moving vehicle and fled behind the houses into the wood line. The driver of the vehicle was slumped over and semi-conscious. The rear passenger appeared to be unharmed by the collision.
Washington and Hunter were removed from the vehicle and detained in handcuffs without further incident. A firearm was located to the left of the driver’s seat, wedged against the foot board.
The Air Unit advised that the male who had jumped out of the vehicle’s sunroof was observed behind a nearby house.
At that time, other responding officers were able to apprehend Anderson, who was found to be out of breath and covered in fresh debris. Anderson was also taken into custody. The red Kia sedan was found to be stolen out of Cobb County.
