STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Police say one suspected serial burglar was arrested and another is being sought after a SWAT standoff in DeKalb County early Wednesday.
Conyers police arrived at a home in the area of Muirfield Drive and Muirfield Run to follow up on a robbery investigation. They said a man came to the door and pointed a gun at an officer.
The officers backed off and DeKalb SWAT then responded. Several neighboring homes were evacuated before several people came out and surrendered.
Police said the primary suspect, David Olson, was taken into custody. He's one of two suspects wanted by Conyers police in connection with multiple burglaries. According to police, the pair are suspect in break-ins at one Best Buy on two occasions, as well as a burglary at Sigman Bottle Shop on August 9 and Sound Shop on Sept. 7.
Jarvas McElroy is still wanted in connection to the crimes. Police said he was indentified by Conyers Police when he left his getaway vehicle near the Community and Southern bank after he tried to break into an ATM there.
McElroy is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
