NORCROSS, Ga. -- The line of cars stretched as far as you could see, from the Citgo on Jimmy Carter Boulevard, down Norcross-Tucker Road, to the final driver who was willing to wait a half-an-hour or more to top off their tank.

Who can pass up gas for $1.99 a gallon?
"I was on my way to the bank and I saw the line and I was like, 'Oh, my God,' look at the gas price," says Sharon Brandon. "I had to get in line."
Syllen Crum got word the night before that cheap gas would be available at 11 a.m. Thursday morning.
"The plan was to be here by 10:30 so I didn't have to attack anybody to get to the gas pump," says Crum. "I did it."
For three hours, the Citgo turned back the clock on gas prices. Some in line said they couldn't remember the last time they paid so little for gas.
"I'm willing to wait as long as it takes," said Teresa Bonnie from her spot in line. "Gas is too high now. Why not go ahead and get it cheap real quick? It's worth it to me."
The unleaded bargain is part of a promotion put on by Infinity Insurance. The company spent about $6,000 in advertising dollars to drop the price of gas. Customers were limited to ten gallons each.
Infinity is far from the first to use gas prices to drum up new business. The American Red Cross is offering a chance to win gas cards to blood donors. Earlier this summer, a Gwinnett County church offered help at the pumps for people who attended services.
At the Citgo, some people didn't even know what they were waiting for, only that there was a line that had to indicate some kind of deal.
"The line tells the story," said Sabrina Lumpkin. "We'll wait right here."
Infinity Insurance said it will sponsor more promotions this summer, but to find out where the next bit of cheap gas can be found, you have to provide a name and phone number on their Website -- www.RefuelingSummer.com.
