WOODSTOCK -- A lockdown at two Cherokee County schools ended Thursday morning after authorities took two Woodstock High School students into custody, found a pistol at the school and two assault rifles and ammo at one suspect's home...all of them stolen.

Woodstock High School and Woodstock Middle School were placed under lockdown shortly after 8 a.m.

Cherokee County Sheriff Roger Garrison says the situation began after Holly Springs Police received a report that three weapons had been stolen from a home of a 15-year-old runaway.

Garrison says the 15 year old was taken into custody after he got off his bus at Woodstock High. He then led them to a 17-year-old who was also arrested.

The Sheriff says 17-year-old Forrest Busby hid an old, unloaded .38 caliber pistol in the ceiling of a school bathroom, which they quickly found.

Authorities also questioned another 17-year-old Woodstock H.S. student who was detained for a few hours, but not charged.

Garrison told reporters at a Thursday afternoon news conference that "there's no proof of any kind" that the weapon was brought to school for some sort of Columbine-style attack.

Garrison says detectives searched Busby's residence on Misty Valley Way in the Bridge Mill Subdivision, and located stolen AR-15 and Mini 14 semi-automatic assault rifles as well as 240 rounds of ammunition.

They also found a small marijuana growing operation.

They add that the weapons were perfectly legal to own, but simply had been stolen.

Busby faces a number of charges, including possession of a weapon on school grounds, theft by receiving stolen property, and possession of a revolver by a person under 18, theft by receiving stolen property, disruption of a public school and manufacturing marijuana.

He's being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center awaiting a Friday bond hearing.

The Sheriff's office says Busby's bond has been set at $20,000, but he will have to appear before a judge and promise not to go near Woodstock High or any other Cherokee County school property or function.

They also say he is cooperating with authorities.

The 15 year old whose name is not being released because he's a juvenile also faces charges including party to the crime of possession of a weapon on school grounds, party to the crime of possession of a revolver by a person under 18, and theft by taking. He's being held in the Paulding Youth Detention Center.

Garrison says both the 15-year-old and Busby have hired legal counsel.

Cherokee County School spokesman Mike McGowan called the situation "a good news story" because authorities took information and responded to it as a precaution.
