
ATLANTA -- Atlanta Police are investigating the early morning stabbing death of a man in Piedmont Park.
The man, who has not been identified, was found near the Charles Allen Drive entrance to the park around 2:15 am Thursday.
Police tell 11Alive news at the scene, that he was apparently attacked by someone trying to rob him. Police said the victim apparently fought back and was stabbed several times. He was dead at the scene.
Police are also investigating another stabbing that was reported about the same time, to determine if the two cases are connected.
In that incident, a man about 40-year-old, was stabbed in the stomach and arm. He told police someone robbed and stabbed him at Juniper Street and 6th Street. That location is not far from Piedmont Park. He is being treated at Grady Hospital.
