Early Water Tests

11 Alive's Center for Investigative Action has received early results from testing done on the Chattahoochee River following last week's flooding and sewage overflows. State officials with the Environmental Protection Division took samples from Atlanta's drinking water intake valve. We went further downstream to LaGrange get tap water samples. We have now received the results from the State's early samples that show the fecal count at the Atlanta drinking water intake was 25 percent above acceptable limits. Officials are taking more samples and we are still waiting on our drinking water tests. However, officials tell us the drinking water is still safe except in areas that have a boil advisory in effect.
