MERIWETHER COUNTY, Ga. -- Joanna Hayes was picked up in Meriwether County on Wednesday and charged with the shooting murder of her daughter-in-law, Heather Strube, last April 26, in the parking lot of a Snellville Target store.

Hayes was called a person of interest by Snellville police after the shooting. They said her white pickup truck was similar to one spotted near the scene.

Strube had just picked up her 18-month-old son from her estranged husband, when she was gunned down.

Police had released an artist's sketch of a suspect that witnesses said was of someone they saw near where the shooting took place, and matching the description of someone seen leaving the scene of the murder. The sketch showed what police described as a slim or slender person wearing a wig and a fake moustache.

Hayes was taken into custody without incident by detectives from the Meriwether County Sheriff's Department, the Snellville Police Department and the GBI Wednesday afternoon. She was expected to be returned to Snellville Wednesday night.
