ATLANTA (AP) -- Edward DuBose has been elected to a third term as president of the Georgia State Conference of the NAACP.
The Columbus resident also currently serves on the civil rights
organization's national board of directors, the only Georgia
president ever to have that distinction.
DuBose was first elected state president in 2005 and re-elected
in 2007. He was president of the Columbus chapter from June 1997 to January 2005 and led more than 15,000 people in the largest protest march in that city's history on the 2005 Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
He is a licensed professional counselor, certified anger
management specialist and the owner of Oxygen Mental Health
Counseling Services, which provides in-home counseling to at-risk youth and families in Georgia and Alabama.
