ATLANTA, Ga -- This weekend the South's oldest rivalry is back: The Auburn Tigers versus the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens. The rivalry is so intense, fans are bleeding for their team, literally. November is the month when the biggest rivalries are played across the country. LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is giving fans a fun and lifesaving outlet where they can channel their school spirit. Starting November 1st donors who visit LifeSouth locations will be able to "Bleed for Your Team." By donating blood, fans may pick up a souvenir T-shirt and can proudly show off their team allegiance heading up to the big game. Here are the locations: 4891 Ashford Dunwoody Rd, Atlanta, GA 30338-4894 329 Westridge Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253 1288 McEver Road Extension, Gainesville, GA 30504 And as the holidays approach, the use of blood will typically climb, while the number of donors drops. Donating now is a way to stock the shelves in area hospitals so that blood will be ready and waiting when it's needed. Anyone 17 or older (or 16 with parental permission) weighing a minimum of 110 pounds and in good health is eligible to donate. A photo ID is also required. Call (404) 329-1994 for more information.
