ATLANTA - A passenger who refused to get off his cell phone delayed a departing AirTran flight from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Tuesday.
An AirTran spokesman said as flight 297 to Houston was taxiing to a runway, a passenger ignored requests by a flight attendant to turn off his cell phone and continued to use it.
As a precauction, the pilot returned the aircraft to the gate where officials said the passenger was asked to get off and he complied.
The other passengers re-boarded the plane around 6:00 p.m.
