ATLANTA -- The medical examiner has ruled the death of Ashley "A.J." Jewell a homicide.

Jewell was the ex-fiance of Kandi Burruss, a cast member of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" and he had also been featured on the show.

The medical examiner says Jewell died as a result of a physical altercation that aggravated underlying medical conditions.

Police say Jewell got into a fight with Frederick Richardson at "Body Tap," a strip club in Atlanta, October 2.

Jewell later died and Richardson was arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter.

He's out of jail on bond.

So far, no word from the Fulton County District Attorney's Office on if and when charges will be upgraded against Richardson.
