ORLANDO, Fla. -- The 11th and final FAMU band-member charged in the hazing death of Robert Champion surrendered to the Orange County sheriff just before 1 p.m. Sunday.
Lasherry Codner, 20, posted $15,000 bond and left the Orange County jail at 8 p.m. in a Brown Chevy Tahoe with Georgia license plates registered in DeKalb County.
Codner and 10 other FAMU band members are charged with third-degree felony hazing. If found guilty, the charges could bring a maximum six-year sentence.
Two other band members face misdemeanor charges.
Champion collapsed on a chartered bus outside the team's Orlando hotel and died Nov. 19, allegedly from injuries sustained during a hazing ritual.
Champion's mother, Pam Champion, said the charges do not match the severity of the crime. She is calling for an indefinite disbanding of the legendary FAMU Marching Band.
