Hartsfield-Jackson passenger traffic up in April

ATLANTA -- Officials at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport announced Wednesday that passenger traffic in April was up 4.26 percent over April 2011.

In April 2011, passenger traffic topped 7.6 million, while this year, traffic reached nearly 8 million passengers. Year-to-date figures for April increased from 28.1 million to 29.7 million in 2012.

Aircraft operations in April 2012 were up 1.2 percent from a year ago, and total air cargo flights that passed through the airport during April decreased from their 2011 number by 7.31 percent.
