ATLANTA -- Volunteers from five metro Atlanta churches put the finishing touches on a new home for Ms. Davis in Southwest Atlanta on Saturday.

Davis, a single mother of three children, helped build the home through Habitat for Humanity.

Dunwoody United Methodist Church provided volunteers and the funding for the home.

Other volunteers from Hickory Flat UMC in Canton, Northbrook UMC in Roswell, Winters Chapel UMC in Atlanta and Simpsonwood UMC also joined on the build.

They began work in early June using money raised during last year's Dunwoody UMC Holiday Festival. This year's festival on November 10th with raise money for another Habitat home next year.

As part of the Habitat program, Davis put in "sweat equity" during the construction phase. She's an Atlanta native who's proud to build a house in her hometown. She wants to raise her children in a space they can call their own.
