Cherokee County High School received donation for ImPACT
CHEROKEE COUNTY -- Cherokee County School District high school athletic programs are now offering baseline ImPACT concussion testing for athletes during the school year.
The ImPACT Concussion Management Program came through a donation from Northside Hospital-Cherokee, to help improve the diagnosis and management of concussion cases during high school sports. The donation was presented to Cherokee High School Superintendent Dr. Frank Petruzielo from Northside Hospital-Cherokee's CEO Billy Hayes.
ImPACT (Immediate Post-concussive Assessment and Cognitive Testing) is a computer test that measures a reaction time, processing speed, short-term memory and concentration for athletes. The test can be taken at school or at home.
