DOUGLASVILLE, Ga -- The New Manchester History Hike will take place on Saturday at Sweetwater Creek State Park.
From 10 to 11:30 a.m., a historian or ranger will lead a group of tourists on a one-mile hike in the park. The hike will lead to the five story remains of the Civil War-era New Manchester textile mill, and provide information on the history of Sweetwater Creek Valley.
During the hike, walkers may go inside the ruins and see whitewater rapids.
Anyone who joins in the hike can bring a camera to take photos. The cost of the hike is $5 and parking is $5. For more information, call (770) 732-5871.
