ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech will unveil a statue of legendary head coach Bobby Dodd, whose name is on the football stadium, reports the Macon Telegraph.
The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday when Georgia Tech celebrates the 1951 and 1952 teams prior to the Virginia game. The 1952 team won the national championship and is the centerpiece of Dodd's career, which included 165 wins, the paper added.
The statue, which features Dodd kneeling, is 54 inches tall and sits atop on a pedestal that's approximately 5 feet tall, the paper said.
The statue will be placed outside the north end of the stadium on Callaway Plaza, the Telegraph reported.
