TUCKER, Ga. -- The nonprofit organization GIANT will hold the 1st Annual Golf 'Fore' Haiti tournament to benefit their Haiti Division on Monday, October 8 at Heritage Golf Links.
Registration to play will begin that morning at 8:30 a.m., with tee off set for 10. Ambassador Andrew Young and a few celebrities will also hit the green.
Along with the golf tournament, GIANT will give away a chance to win a new car, a vacation and other prizes. They will put on a silent auction, banquet and awards ceremony.
GIANT recognizes the challenges brought to Haiti by the 2010 earthquake. GIANT's Haiti Division helps Haiti with the development of local capacity by providing training, technical assistance, financial relief and resources that ease the recovery process after the quake.
Their mission is to contribute to supply men and women in Haiti with healthcare, schooling, nutritious food and safe water.
GIANT is asking the public to help their Haiti cause by playing in the tournament, sponsoring the golf event and/or attending the banquet.
Among their current projects are rebuilding the infrastructure of a maternity hospital, providing basic needs to families and to increase sanitation while fighting disease in Haiti.
