ALBANY, Ga. (AP) -- Military officials are investigating the cause of a fire that knocked out power at a U.S. Marine Corps base in southwest Georgia.
Authorities say the Monday afternoon fire resulted in a loss of power at Marine Corps Logistics Base-Albany.
Base Spokesman Colie Young said a transformer at one of the substations caught fire. Young said that caused a temporary interruption in power. As a precaution, the power to the whole base was shut off.
Young said Monday afternoon the fire had been put out. No injuries were reported.
Few other details were immediately available.
