ATLANTA -- More than 7,000 volunteers will come together on Saturday, October 6 for the 22nd annual Hands on Atlanta Day.
A day of service set for Saturday, October 6, brings forward opportunities for people of Atlanta to get involved to help in areas of the environment, economic recovery and education through three different community projects. The projects are being called Love Your Block, Love Your Neighbor, Love Your School.
In partnering with Mayor Kasim Reed, The City of Atlanta and The Community Foundation, Love Your Block projects are resident-driven, and work to beautify Atlanta's neighborhoods and green spaces.
Love Your Neighbor volunteer activities will serve the hunger, housing and education needs of seniors, low-income families, veterans and the homeless.
Love Your School volunteer activities include tutoring sessions and school-based learning opportunities and school grounds improvements.
