ATLANTA - One of Atlanta's newest restaurant has now been named one of America's best.
The Optimist, on Atlanta's West Side, has been named the nation's best new restaurant of the year by Esquire Magazine, in their November issue.
The Optimist is the brainchild of Chef Ford Fry, who brought JCT Kitchen and No. 246 to locals inside the Perimeter, and has two new restaurants - one in Buckhead and one in the new Avalon development in Alpharetta-expected to open within the next year and a half.
Fresh seafood is brought in daily from both coasts to provide a unique seafood experience for patrons.
Esquire calls The Optimist a "soaring, convivial spot" with a "hopping oyster bar shaped like a surfboard, a first-rate cocktail program and seafood cooked with old-school expertise over a wood fire." The review also says the restaurant is a "resounding local success."
Big on the freshness of the seafood, it'll transport diners to the coast with its menu and atmosphere. You'll almost forget that you're in the middle of Atlanta.
