SNELLVILLE, Ga. -- The Atlanta Hawks, cheerleaders and Harry the Hawk visited South Gwinnett High School for a surprise open practice on Tuesday.
Britt Elementary was also invited to attend the academic rally where the practice was held along with celebration of the schools' achievement. The Hawks were announced by guard Lou Williams during the rally, and students were entertained by the team.
The Voice of the Hawks Steve Holman, Harry and cheerleaders gave out rally towels, danced and entertained while Hawks coach Larry Drew led the team's practice.
Williams was a star at South Gwinnett, a four-time All-State Selection from 2001-2005. He earned Georgia's "Mr. Basketball" his junior and senior years, and led the team to a 5A State Championship as a junior.
