SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) -- Police in the Savannah area say the wreck of a trailer carrying circus animals caused closure of part of an interstate highway.
Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman Gena Bilbo said eastbound lanes of Interstate 516 were closed after the Monday afternoon crash.
Police spokesman Julian Miller says the wreck involved a trailer carrying animals for the UniverSoul Circus.
The circus company's website says the circus is scheduled to be in Savannah Wednesday through Sunday.
